The Classical Association of Scotland is once again proud to present Ancient Voices language school for 2026!
This will be running from the 1st until the 28th of June via online classes so you can learn from the comfort of your own home.
Format:
This is an online learning initiative comprising short courses in ancient languages and cultures, visiting lectures and reading groups. The aim of Ancient Voices is to offer accessible entry points to the ancient world (broadly conceived) to as wide a global audience as possible.
We offer classes ranging from beginners to advanced to accommodate both those with no previous experience with ancient languages as well as previous students of the language.
Beginners: These sessions offer a grammar and vocabulary based launch point, designed for those with little to no experience; Intermediate offers a blend of grammar and textual learning for those who want to consolidate on the basics.
Advanced: Offers a fully textual launch point, reading directly across texts chosen by our class leaders.
Each stream is led by an expert teacher of the subject from within either the school or university sector.

You can take a maximum of three courses of the languages seen above. We offer a sliding discount for students registering on multiple streams:
- 1 x Language Stream: £70.00
- 2 x Language Streams: £130.00
- 3 x Language Streams: £180.00
We believe that the Ancient Voices programme represents a uniquely good value for money, with accessibility in mind when pricing our language streams.
